From Southbank to Parkville. An exegesis on how communal spaces foster connection and inspire performance and storytelling in any place.
About this event
The Southbank campus of University of Melbourne houses degrees that engage with live performance and art - and the pandemic meant that much of the rehearsal, networking, and projects that would usually occur on campus didn't. We all mourned that loss, and with 2022 have seen empty communal spaces fill again, rehearsals occur in full swing, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
This tour brings Southbank artists to Parkville and explores how communal spaces foster connection and inspire performance and storytelling. Tour participants will meet at Inge King's Sun Ribbon on University Plaza (imaged above) and traverse the campus with Flick and Tansy Gorman. The route will be led by tour participants and this performance arts piece will engage irreverently with the experiences of place, perception and participation.
